The band consists of Doug Johnson (guitar and vocals), Marlene Phillips (mandolin and vocals) and Bruce Phillips (guitar, banjo and vocals). Doug comes from a musical family that started with his Mom and Dad. All of Doug’s siblings sing and play musical instruments. Doug had his first band when he was 20 and has played in bands with siblings, brothers-in-law and friends ever since.

Bruce and Marlene are from Ponoka, Alberta. They both started out going to dances with their parents. They started playing in the early 2000s and have enjoyed playing at many events across Alberta. They have hosted many jamborees and especially enjoy encouraging young performers. They especially enjoy the smiles at the seniors’ lodges where they play and sing. Their highlight was playing for the Shriners in Yuma, Arizona, where their band raised over $43,000.00 in the six years they played there.

They have been fortunate enough to play with talented musicians, many of whom have become lifelong friends. They look forward to participating in this weekend’s festival and making the song “Music and Friends” come to life.
