With musicians from Quesnel and Prince George, Mama’s Dream is new on the music scene. Debbie and Beth have been informally making harmonies the last couple of years, and invited Al and Dave to join them this weekend. Debbie credits her family for her first inspiration to play and sing, and she has played with numerous bands, including Country Calibre and Rockin’ Country.
Beth got her start playing with her dad at seniors’ homes and dances, and was known for her part in the band Sound of the North. Debbie and Beth have had a blast learning the fiddle together at Gavin Lake Fiddle Camp the last few years. They are pleased to have this weekend’s sound man, Dave Rubadeau, joining them on guitar.
Dave has played with many groups over the years, and currently plays with Deuces Wild. Al regularly attended the jams at the Cottonwood Hall which gave him opportunity to step in with bands such as Old n’ Country and Rockin’ Country. The band name,
Mama’s Dream, was chosen in honour of Debbie’s mother, Bonnie Gunton, their number one fan!
